昨日、寝る前にシンドラーのリストを観て、また泣いてしまいました。
一番のツボは、最後の方でシンドラーが車に乗る前に工場のみんなと一緒にいるシーン。
そして、音楽。見直してみて、改めて音楽の良さがわかりました。
人は狂気の中にいると、同化しやすい。いわゆる群集心理。
ナチス党員と言う狂気の中にいたシンドラーが、なぜあれだけの良心を持ち続けることが出来たのだろうか。
そういえば、エルサレムに行ったときにシンドラーのお墓も行ってきた。連れが小心者だったため、ゆっくりといられなかったのが今も残念。

今日は、英会話の日。
Ａちゃんと二人。
東京のどの街が好きかという話題でなぜか、危ないお店の話に流れていってしまった。

そんな話で出てきたのが、性転換の話。手術をした人を、transsexual。
見た目が異性の格好は、transvestite。
先生が思わず苦笑していました。
電車の中でテキストを開くのは勇気がいる単語たちです。気をつけないと。。

今日のテーマは時の移り変わり。
昔はこうだった。。今はこんなだ！将来こうなるだろう、と言った感じ。

過去
In the past, Tokyo was safer than now.
When I was a child, there was no 24hours shop.
In those days, women couldn't work with raising their children.
Back when I was in a jr. high, there were over 300 students in a grade.

現在
Nowaday, people don't care about anoter people.
These days, we can buy anything we want on internet.

未来
In the future, cancer won't be critical disease.
In a few years, it'll take one hour from Tokyo to Osaka.
In a few years' time, we can buy anything by cell phone.
By the time current children are adult, Japanese companies are not so advanced.

変化
My weight is getting loser and loser year by year.
The more I read newspaper, the more I hate Japanese government.
My father used to be strict.
Japanese are not as healthy as we used to be.
People don't understand basics like they used to.

将来の不安
The way things are going, he will soon be sick.
Whatever happened to being kind to people.


work ethic = 労働観
I think the work ethic of young people is different from mine.

wage = 賃金
I asked my boss to raise my wage.

gadget = ちょっとした装置、名前のわからない面白そうなもの
Boys likes gadgets, but in the past, boys made gadgets.

job-hop = 転職を繰り返す
My ex. was job-hopping, I didn't like that.

pick up = bounce back = recover
The price of stock will bounce back.

be up = be blooming ⇔ be down = be in slump
Sony is in slump lately.


使える状況はいろいろあるかな。
意識しないで使っている方が多いかも。
将来の不安の2つは使えそうで使っていないから、これから意識して使わないと。
